© Silvia Krupinska, Installation of From the Bottom of the Sea Sculptures Series, 2012

The series of From the Bottom of the Sea Sculptures are white sensual objects. Their silky-smooth exterior is contrasting with the textures tunnelling inside them. The light and the air come through from all directions making them irresistible to look in and explore the tunnels. They are comparable to pearls or other treasures that are found in the deepest secret places of oceans. Their titles are inspired like the sculptures themselves by the islands in Ria Formosa Natural Reserve in Portugal.
